Donna Wojtyna is a skilled weaver who began offering classes at the
monastery in 1981. Today Sister Donna hosts
weekly classes,
retreat reflection days,
workshops, and if scheduled in advance,
a
basket party.
Her students range from children to people in their 70's and 80's and provide participants with the thrill of making something with their hands.
Sister Donna states that "anyone can learn the skills" needed to weave their basket in class. In addition it is a whole meditative process that helps participants spiritually.

Basket weaving classes are offered every Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Cost is $4.00 per hour plus materials fee. Choose from hundreds of basket samples.
Weave a unique-to-you basket within a prayerful experience at the Monastery. Following a selected theme, each person is given time for private reflection and journaling. One's prayerful reflection is woven into a one-of-a-kind basket. NO previous weaving experience necessary. Limit of 10 persons with a total cost of $40.00 which includes lunch.
Mom/Dad/and Me Grandma/Grandad and Me
Saturday or weekday workshops form 10:00-3:00 with adult and child 6 years and up. Both weave one basket, sharing this creative experience together. Cost: 16.00 includes lunch/
Adult Workshop
Gather at least 5 of your friends (limit 10) and call for a day and time that suits your group for a basket experience. One basket style will be offered per class. At least 4 hours will be needed to complete a basket. Cost 34.00 which includes lunch.
Host a Basket Party at your home. Invite 12 guests or more to see and purchase lovely handmade baskets and/or to place orders. Custom made baskets available upon request.
