What is the Partners of St. Benedict Program?
The Partners of St. Benedict is a partnership program that enables
individuals to participate in the ministry of the Benedictine Sisters of
Pittsburgh through their gifts of money, stock, wills and bequests, a gift
of life insurance or in-kind donations.
Partnership enables the Sisters to continue serving God’s people by
teaching, pastoral ministry, counseling, child care, social services, care
of the aged, visual arts, administration, hospital ministry, chaplaincy,
foster parenting, tutoring, advocating for peace and justice, nursing and
spiritual direction.
How will my Partnership gift be used?
Although most gifts to the Partners of St. Benedict program are
unrestricted, you may specify which ministry or cause of the Sisters you
would like to be associated with. The retirement needs of the elderly
Sisters and the ongoing education of members are two special causes who
need annual support.
The dependent missions of Greene County and Neon, Kentucky also need funds
to continue to provide care for the poor they serve. The Partners of St.
Benedict Program supports ministry in parishes and communities that are
unable to meet stipends for Sisters who serve there.
St. Benedict Hall, which serves as a social/human service center, needs
continual assistance to meet the needs of the elderly; infirm; homeless;
mentally challenged; area civic groups which use this facility.
How much should I give?
To a great extent, the success of the partnership effort depends upon the
commitment of many levels of giving. For this reason, the Benedictine
Sisters of Pittsburgh have structured ways of giving that will meet each
individuals gift level. It is the belief of the Sisters’ that all gifts,
whether large or small, are greatly appreciated and contribute to the work
of the Sisters and the spread of the Gospel.
What benefits do the Partners of St. Benedict receive
for their generosity?
