Sister Florence Lynch

I was called by God and by Mary to serve them in whatever way they wished. I am from Pottlereagh Carnaros, Kells County, Meath, Ireland.

When I was about twelve years old and on my way home after being confirmed something greater than myself kept nagging at me to follow Jesus’ way of life. Our family had great devotion to Mary and to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Our day started and ended with prayer. Ours was a hard-working farm family. In spite of a 24/7 schedule, we still found time for visiting, Church services and our neighbors. Helping the poor was a priority in our lives.

God calls each of us to share our gifts with others – not just the gifts other people tend to notice (my Irish brogue) but the reverence for nature and the environment. On the farm I learned to interact with people of many different backgrounds and this ability is one to be used to promote the glory of God. When I do this, I know joy even when I’m having a bad day!!!
