The mission of our Oblate program is to
create opportunities to grow in the Spirit of
Saints Benedict and Scholastica as seekers of the Living God.
We, members of the Benedictine Oblate Community of Saint Benedict Monastery, bear witness to the peace that the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the rule of our Holy Father St. Benedict have brought into our lives.
We embrace in our lives the values expressed in the Holy Rule of St. Benedict, according to our station in life: stability of heart, fidelity to the spirit of the monastic way of life and obedience to the will of God. These open us in love to the social values of hospitality, service to others and responsible stewardship.
You are invited!
The Benedictine Sisters of Pittsburgh and all of the Oblates invite you to explore the possibility of becoming an Oblate of St. Benedict. If you desire a deeper spiritual life, if you would like a group of like-minded people to support you on your journey, if you want the wisdom of the Rule of Benedict as your guide, look no further. Our Oblates, lay women and men, are here to welcome and accompany you.
